Making God's Love Known In Windsor
All Souls Day is a time when we particularly remember loved ones who have died. The prayers appointed for that day remind us that we are joined with the Communion of Saints, that great group of Christians who have finished their earthly life and with who we share the hope of resurrection from the dead.
The feast day falls on November 2nd, and on Sunday 30th October a Requiem High Mass was celebrated by the Rector, Rev’d Ainsley Swift, Rev’d Margaret Bird and Rev’d Kate Harrison. The Mass setting was Fauré’s Requiem, beautifully sung by the Team Choir and friends from St Peter’s, Burnham and St Paul’s, Wokingham, conducted by Brian Henry with John Halsey on the newly restored organ.
This is the second year the All Souls Day has been celebrated with Solemn High Mass at St Stephen's, and this moving, well loved and well attended service looks set to become an annual feature in our calendar.
