Making God's Love Known In Windsor
I write to you at an unprecedented time in our history to thank you for the financial support you have given to the Parish Church of St Stephen and St Agnes in the past, whether regularly by standing order, in a yellow envelope or directly into the collection plate.
Your support has been invaluable and has meant that together with income from lettings we have been able until now to “balance the books”. However, reduction in our income over these last difficult months will inevitably lead to an excess expenditure over income by the end of this year. I am asking you therefore to think about increasing your level of giving, if you are in a position to do so, and to consider changing the way in which you give, so that you are giving as efficiently as possible.
You may have heard about a new system of giving called the Parish Giving Scheme (PGS) which has now been adopted in some 20 dioceses including our own.
Under the PGS, your gift will be by Direct Debit (monthly, quarterly, annually as you choose) and you will have the option to accept an annual increase in line with the RPI. Importantly for the PCC, the diocese does all the administration to enable your donation (with Gift Aid where applicable) to reach the church account quickly and efficiently, so helping with cash flow.
The churchwardens, PCC and I are confident that this is an excellent way of giving and commend it to you. We hope that you will feel able to join the scheme. The procedure is simple. If you have an existing standing order, cancel it with your bank. Then, EITHER telephone 0333 002 1271 with the church ‘s name (St Stephen & St Agnes) and code (270627373) to hand and register with the PGS, specifying how much you would like to give OR complete the PGS application form and forward it to Parish Giving Scheme, 76 Kingsholm Road, Gloucester, GL1 3BD
Tony will be happy to help with any queries you may have about the PGS or any other financial matter, for example increasing your level of giving or maybe you are considering leaving a legacy. Do contact him by phone (01753 864665) or email (firstname.lastname@example.org).
